Yes,
it is always ONEderful to take a look at those stepping stone paths along
the way that got us to our chosen path now!
For me, it was a personal rebirth back in 1972 that
brought a peak experience and an epiphany, that the Golden Rule was not
just a bunch of words written 2000 years ago. Its content became real.
Then I lost this peak experience after about three
months worth of having my life look like I was ONE with everything and
everyone. I tried to find out how to "recapture" that experience and
started searching, not thinking that anyone ever had the same kind of
experience.
I found Ram Dass' book,
Be Here Now. WOW! Someone else has
had that same experience. I found
est and Werner Erhard a few years
later. That definitely gave me a deep insight into the anatomy of the mind
and how the ego thought system worked "not in my best interest or favor".
I touched on Tibetan Buddhism; did rebirthing with
Leonard Orr and Sondra Ray. I published The Bigger Bubble, a
magazine in NYC, that served as a bulletin board for the many
paths New Yorkers were practicing in the 1970's. It was then I heard
of
Stewart Emery and
Actualizations:
You Don't Have to Rehearse to Be Yourself, A Workshop which
he began in New York in 1977.
I went to a meeting he held, attended by some 300
people, where he told of his experience with
A
Course In Miracles, which he had learned about from his
next-door neighbor Dr. Jerry Jampolsky of Tiburon, CA.
After studying and practicing ACIM himself, he asked
if he could visit Helen Schucman, the Scribe of The Course, in NYC,
and he did. He shared with us, that even though he spent almost the whole
day with her, in the first half hour, he realized that she couldn't
possibly have written this Course.
I blurted out, "if she didn't, who did?" Someone
sitting next to me, whom I did not know (and never saw again) leaned over
and whispered in my ear, "It doesn't matter who wrote it, just get the
books, and just do the lessons". I did. I am so grateful for each and
every person and path that got me to that point. If it weren't for them, I
probably would have never taken those "Blue Books" home.
Yes, I am thankful for how I got here and honor and
acknowledge the pointers and stepping stones...along the way into ONEness.
The script is written and we have written it. For
each of us, when seen correctly, our movie-script is an Academy Award
Hollywood movie. A "prisoner of his dreams" realizes he is dreaming, and
then chooses to AWAKEN , finding the path and takes his Brother Home with
him.
As Yogi Berra said, "When you come to the fork in
the road, take it." As with most Yogiisms, people thought it was funny.
During an interview, when asked about this particular one, Yogi said, "I
wasn't trying to be smart...you see at my home, there is a road that runs
to the house, and it comes to a fork, and you can always take either path,
for they both arrive here at my Home." Many paths, SAME outcome!"
